Did you know lung cancer is the fifth most common cancer and the leading cause of cancer death in Australia? The National Lung Cancer Screening Program aims to achieve better health outcomes for Australians by detecting lung cancer early and helping save the lives of up to 12,000 Australians in the next 10 years.
The National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP) uses a low-dose computed tomography scan (low-dose CT scan) to detect lung cancer earlier in eligible Australians. Early detection can lead to more effective treatment options and improved outcomes for patients.
